Areas of Concentration: For the past seven years, it has been mathematics and science education for education (K-16). The emphasis has been on helping teachers implement the state math and science curriculum standards and improving student achievement in math and science

I like the way that PAIR brings student teams together from different disciplines to work on ‘real world’ projects as they increase their knowledge of astrophysics. This approach to learning is certainly more like what they will be expected to do when they graduate and are employed. I also value the outreach component of the project. I think that both the undergraduates and the K-12 students and teachers have benefited from the presentations at the local schools and at conferences.
