Course offerings can change to address emerging topics. Since all courses may not be offered each year, interested students should refer to the current year's application for the list of current courses available through the Field Station.
Special Topic Courses are research oriented programs designed for undergraduate seniors and recently graduated students who have had no less than 9 hours course work in marine sciences, environmental science, natural resource management or equivalent courses in other fields. In addition, a student in the program must show evidence of his/her intention to pursue professional career with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) or National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Each student in the marine science program and USDA research will receive a stipend. Call Professor Denise S. Grant at (803) 536-8859 or send email for information about housing. Students in marine research will earn 4 credit hours and will therefore pay tuition. Call or email Professor Denise S. Grant for details.
