ResourcesFlorence C. Anoruo, ABD.
Florence C. Anoruo, ABD. University of South Carolina Columbia. Florence works on the defensive role of leaf volatiles on plant community members. She is investigating the effects of nutrient on the production and function of monoterpenoids, the role of monoterpenoids as defense chemicals in plants, and the interaction between nutrient availability and mycorrhizal fungi (Frankia, an actinomycete) to determine the effect of Frankia on monoterpenoid production.
Florence is also evaluating the role of monoterpenoids as attractant of third trophic level predators, and/or deterrent for generalist and specialist predators, and the convergence of terrestrial plant species with similar leaf volatile for functional efficiency and the effects of convergence on community structure.
