300 - Introduction to Environmental Science
An
introductory one semester or summer course for freshman and sophomore
students who are interested in environmental studies, natural and physicals
sciences, social sciences, agriculture, or engineering. The course will
also be ideal for those students and individuals that simply want to broaden
their knowledge and/or have more understanding of the environment. Introduction
to Environmental Science will expose students to biological, chemical,
social, political, cultural, and economic factors that affect the environment.
Students will be engaged in hands-on activity of the interaction of these
factors with terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. The course will also
explore scientific and social implications of climatic change, global
warming, and the effects of anthropogenic pollutants and human population
on the environment. (4 credits).
