Introduction

Support research and other activities which encourage students
to pursue advanced degrees or employment in fields of interest to NASA

One of the most significant impacts of the NASA programs at SCSU has been through the student internship programs. Students from SCSU and other minority institutions around the country have been funded to conduct research and/or develop technical skills in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). These experiences have included work during the summer and the academic year at either SCSU or other institutions around the country. Students have had the opportunity to work with some of the leading scientists in the fields of space science at premier research facilities in the United States.

In addition to the undergraduate programs, NASA funding has also provided numerous SCSU students with internships and employement as faculty assistants, office workers, computer lab monitors, web designers and in other positions.
