Drs. Payne and Walter at the South Carolina Science Council Conference

Drs. Linda and James Payne and Donald Walter conducted workshops and made other presentations at the South Carolina Science Council's 30th Annual Conference held at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina from November 2-4, 2005 (conference's web site).

Dr. Linda Payne Director of the Midlands Math & Science Regional Center, and Dr. Donald Walter, Professor of Physics along with Ms. Sandra Watts, a teacher at Carver Edisto Middle School presented a hands-on workshop "Life on Earth...and Elsewhere??" on Friday, November 4, 2005.

Dr. Linda Payne also presented " What's in the ERC for Me? " on Thursday, November 3, 2005.

Dr. James Payne, Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and a Professor of Physics at SCSU, was forced to canceled his hands-on workshop "Radio Astronomy for the Classroom ", when the remote telescope went off line.

The team from SCSU also sponsored an exhibitor booth at the conference that included displays about SCSU, its science programs and NASA activities.
