Dr. James Payne receives the Helms award from the President of the South Carolina Science Council

For exemplary contributions to the development of educational opportunities for both students and teachers in the areas of science and technology, and for the advocacy of all worthy endeavors to raise the level of public consciousness toward science education in the State of South Carolina.

The award was presented on Friday, November 5, 2004, during the 29th Annual South Carolina Science Council Convention in Charleston.
